The grounds on which Peacepainting Center will be built has varied landscape features and qualities. Within this area of approximately 40,000 square meters, there are streams, birch forests, beaches, meadows and mountains that steeply plunge into the sea.

Materials that have an anchorage to the site, such as slate and wood, are used in the facades. At Guldvikhaugen you will find two types of rocks; dark gray calcareous slate and white granite. With a shelf in stacked slate, the buildings will give the impression of rising up from the mountain.

The buildings will also have wooden facades with horizontal planks at different depths and lengths. These are inspired by the pattern and texture of the birch trees in the area. The massive expression of the buildings will contrast with the thin, white birch trunks that characterize the place.
